FARR SHEPHERD
FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF PATHFINDER BROADBAND
Farr Shepherd’s journey to Colorado began after being recruited for a tech job following his graduation from a Midwest university. Fast forward twenty years, and Farr is still at the forefront of delivering technology solutions that make a difference in the lives of the communities he’s come to know and love.
After founding Decypher Technologies, the largest IT services provider in the Colorado Rockies, Farr grew increasingly frustrated with the sub-par customer service and unreliable internet offered by other providers, especially in rural and underserved communities. His leadership at Decypher earned the company a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies and recognition as a Cisco Premier Partner, placing them in the top 15% of Cisco partners nationwide.
“You take for granted how much high-speed internet is a part of your life until you’re stuck without it,” Farr says.
Teaming up with long-time business partner Ande Grillo, Farr set out to do what others wouldn’t—bring reliable, high-speed internet to the places that had been overlooked for years. That’s how Pathfinder Broadband was born.

Families who couldn’t spend more time in Colorado before because of poor internet now can, and businesses are thriving in areas that were once disconnected. ANDE GRILLO
GENERAL MANAGER
Born and raised in the Pathfinder service area, Ande Grillo is a true Colorado native who knows firsthand the unique challenges of living in these beautiful, but often underserved areas. “We believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice living in a beautiful area like ours with small-town amenities just to get reliable ‘big city’ connectivity,” Ande says.
With a background as a specialist in wireless and fiber optic installation at Decypher Technologies, Ande was a natural fit to help lead Pathfinder Broadband. He leads the charge in building new towers, laying fiber networks, and finding creative ways to bring high-speed internet to areas that have long struggled with subpar service.
Ande’s commitment shines through in his approach: “It’s encouraging when we hear from people in the community checking in, excited to know when Pathfinder service will reach their neighborhood. We’re working hard every day to blaze new paths and bring fast, reliable internet to those who’ve felt like they’re living on the dark side of the moon.”

Anthony
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES TEAM
When you call Pathfinder Broadband, there’s a good chance you’ll hear Anthony’s friendly voice on the other end. Originally from Mexico, Anthony moved to the Aspen area in 1987, where he learned how to ski before he even learned English! His passion for helping people and commitment to superior customer service make him a perfect fit for our team.
With a background in personal training and property management, Anthony is here to make sure your experience with Pathfinder is as smooth as possible.

Cheyenne
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
As Pathfinder Broadband’s Executive Assistant, Cheyenne brings a wealth of experience from her background in the wellness & beauty industry, where she served as a luxury spa director. Her passion for Colorado’s great outdoors and her commitment to helping others feel their best shine through in everything she does.
With her positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting others, Cheyenne provides invaluable support to Pathfinder’s executives, helping to keep operations running smoothly. “I’m proud to be part of such an amazing team that truly cares about their work and their customers,” she says. Cheyenne’s energy and dedication are key to ensuring Pathfinder’s success behind the scenes.

Michael Scarpiti
DIRECTOR, ENTERPRISE SALES
Michael Scarpitti joined Pathfinder Broadband in 2019, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications engineering. He has worked extensively in Data Center operations, network hardware, and RF communications, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the technology that powers modern connectivity. In 2024, he transitioned into the role of enterprise sales director, where he now combines his technical background with a client-focused approach, helping customers find the right broadband solutions.
A United States Marine Corps veteran, Michael is no stranger to discipline and service, qualities that shine through in his work. Outside of the office, he loves to fish and enjoys performing on stage as a singer. His diverse interests and technical expertise make him a valuable part of the Pathfinder team.

Christian
TECHNICAL TEAM
Christian is a proud member of Pathfinder’s technical team, born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley. His love for technology began early, building and fixing computers back in high school. Now, with CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications under his belt, Christian is working toward his CCNA to expand his expertise to the next level.
Before diving headfirst into IT, Christian spent time maintaining hot tubs and pools, but his passion for tech always called him back. When he’s not solving IT puzzles for the community, you’ll find him hiking, biking, or shooting hoops in the local mountains.
Christian’s enthusiasm for technology and helping others makes him a perfect fit for the Pathfinder team.

Kaytie
TECHNICIAN
As a Pathfinder Broadband Technician, Kaytie brings a unique blend of technical skill and local knowledge to the team. Born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley, she understands the specific needs of Pathfinder customers better than most. Her previous experience as a master mechanic has honed her technical abilities and troubleshooting skills, making her a natural fit for the role.
Kaytie is passionate about her job and the people she serves. She believes that everyone deserves access to high-speed internet, regardless of where they live, and she’s committed to making that a reality for her community.

Mark
FIELD TECHNICIAN
Mark is a Pathfinder Field Technician who loves working outdoors as much as he loves playing in it. Whether it’s mountain biking, camping, skiing, and hiking, Mark thrives in the Colorado wilderness. Having grown up in the Valley, he’s no stranger to the challenges the elements can bring—and that’s exactly what makes him so good at what he does.
A recent graduate of the Northwest Lineman College, Mark has quickly put his technical skills to work, helping to expand Pathfinder’s service area. He takes pride in delivering quality work and ensuring every customer is satisfied with their service. Mark is excited to be part of the Pathfinder team and can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish together.

Kim
COORDINATOR
Born and raised in Basalt, Colorado, Kim is a Pathfinder Broadband Coordinator who brings a wealth of experience from her previous management roles. Her background has equipped her with the skills and know-how to ensure that Pathfinder customers receive the best possible service and experience.
When she’s not making sure everything runs smoothly at work, you’ll find Kim spending time outdoors with her two dogs or cozying up with a good book. Her dedication to both her community and her work makes her an invaluable part of the Pathfinder team.

Whelan
DIRECTOR OF MOUNTAIN FIBER DEVELOPMENT
Whelan has called the Roaring Fork Valley home since 1993, after growing up in Alabama and graduating from the University of Alabama. For the past 19 years, he worked as the IT Support Coordinator for the City of Aspen, where he managed Aspen Fiber and helped launch Aspen Community Broadband. Now, Whelan brings his extensive IT and infrastructure expertise to Pathfinder Broadband as the new Director of Mountain Fiber Development.
Living the “work hard, play hard” lifestyle, Whelan spends his free time camping, fishing, trail running, and riding the mountains—and when the rivers are running, you can find him surfing.
“All my hard work has led to an opportunity to do what I love: building out fiber optics to provide fast, reliable, and affordable broadband to the Western Slope,” Whelan says.

Phoebe
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST
Phoebe has been a well-known face in the area for decades, especially to those who frequented FedEx for expedited services. Now, she’s bringing the same passion for excellence to Pathfinder Broadband, working on the front lines to ensure every subscriber has the best possible experience.
Phoebe loves being part of the Pathfinder team, because, as she puts it, “everyone here is hard-working, passionate, and does it all with a smile.” Her commitment to customer service and dedication to making things run smoothly make her an invaluable part of the team.

Tabitha
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
A Colorado native with over 20 years of experience in technology, Tabitha is a true champion of process improvement at Pathfinder Broadband. Her focus is on finding new ways to enhance the customer service experience.
Tabitha loves working for Pathfinder because the team is always striving to improve and is genuinely motivated by the impact they make. “It’s incredibly rewarding to bring service to those who truly need and appreciate it,” she says.
