Connecting Our Community: Pathfinder Broadband’s First Newsletter!

Dear Valued Customers and Community Members,

Welcome to the very first edition of Pathfinder Broadband’s newsletter!

We’re tech people, sure—but we’re also your neighbors. Unlike the big internet providers, we do a little happy dance every time someone new joins our network. Because for us, you’re not just a number—you’re a name, a family, a story.

We started Pathfinder with one mission: bring high-speed internet to the communities the ‘Big Guys’ overlooked. And because we’re locals (many of us were born and raised right here—heck, you might have gone to school with us!), we’re all about keeping our communities connected.

So, what’s inside this shiny new newsletter?

👋 Meet Michael Scarpitti, our resident broadband expert who also happens to be a local performer.
😂 Find out which of your neighbors might be secretly hilarious (hint: the Valley Comic Showcase is coming!).
🤖 What’s up with AI? OpenAI just shook things up, and we’ve got the scoop.
💡 The one tech fix that actually works (yes, “turn it off and on again” made the list).
🔐 How our latest upgrade is making your internet experience smoother, safer, and stress-free.
🧠 Riddle of the Month: Can you crack it?

So grab a coffee, kick back, and enjoy! We’re excited to keep you in the loop.

Happy reading!

Hometown Highlights: People & Events Keeping Our Community Connected

Employee Spotlight: Meet Michael Scarpitti

At Pathfinder Broadband, we’re all about keeping things local—and no one embodies that more than Michael Scarpitti, our Director of Enterprise Sales and all-around community champion.

Since joining Pathfinder in 2019, he’s helped businesses and residents stay connected, including delivering high-speed broadband to Valley View Hospital in just 60 days!

But Michael’s not just about internet—he’s about connections of all kinds. You’ll often find him grabbing breakfast at Lazy Bear in New Castle (tell Joel, the owner, that Michael & Victoria sent you!), performing at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, or singing at open mic nights.

Got a broadband question (or a favorite breakfast spot to recommend)? Michael’s your guy!

Local Spotlight: Aspen’s Funniest Neighbors Take the Stage!

Need a good laugh? The Valley Comic Showcase is back at the Aspen Laugh Festival on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Wheeler Opera House.

These aren’t big-city comedians—these are your neighbors, sharing their most awkward, hilarious moments. Who knows? Your HOA president might be funnier than you think.

📍 When & Where: Tuesday, March 11 | Wheeler Opera House, Aspen, CO

We’ll be there, probably laughing the loudest. Hope to see you too!

Tech U

We scour the internet’s deepest corners (dodging way too many cookie pop-ups) to bring you the latest and greatest in tech news—so you don’t have to. Big tech headlines got you scratching your head? No worries, we’ve got the CliffsNotes version.

🔍 OpenAI Shakes Things Up: GPT-5 is Coming, But o3 is Out

AI is evolving faster than your uncle’s conspiracy theories. OpenAI just announced that GPT-5—the next big leap in artificial intelligence—is on the way. But in a surprise twist, they’ve scrapped their standalone “o3” model. Instead, they’re focusing on making their existing AI smarter, smoother, and (hopefully) less prone to weird, robotic mistakes.

What does this mean for you? Whether you use AI to draft emails, settle dinner debates, or just make your voice assistant slightly less useless, this could change how tech fits into your daily life.

Tech Tip of the Month: Because Sometimes, “Turning It Off and On Again” Actually Works

Nothing kills the vibe like a buffering wheel. If your internet is acting up, don’t panic—try these quick fixes before launching into a full-blown existential crisis:

🔌 Check your modem and router. Sometimes, a loose cable is the real villain. Give everything a quick once-over.

🔄 Restart your devices. Yes, the age-old IT advice really does work (most of the time). Power down, count to ten, and fire ‘em back up.

📞 Still stuck? Make sure your account is in good standing, then give our support team a shout. We promise we won’t ask if you’ve tried turning it off and on again—unless it’s actually necessary.

Update: Your Internet Just Got Better (And Our Job Got a Little Easier, Too!)

A while back, we rolled out Managed Wi-Fi and Network Security for all residential subscribers, and now that it’s been up and running, we have some great news: it’s working!

Fewer Support Calls – With better security and optimized connections, fewer of you are running into issues (which means less frustration for you and more time for us to perfect our coffee-making skills).

📞 Better Support When You Need It – When problems do pop up, we can actually help over the phone now—no more guessing games, just real solutions.

🔐 Stronger Security – Your connection is safer than ever, keeping cyber threats at bay and giving you peace of mind.

Thanks for rolling with the upgrade—we’re always working to make your internet experience better!

Our Origin Story: Big Speeds, Small-Town Roots

People shouldn’t have to choose between living in a beautiful place and having fast, reliable internet. That’s why we launched Pathfinder Broadband in 2017—to bridge the digital divide and bring big-city connectivity to our small-town communities.

As our GM, Ande Grillo, puts it: “Everything we do is about blazing a new path and shedding light on those who feel like they’re living on the dark side of the moon.”

Today, we proudly serve Eagle, Garfield, and Pitkin counties, keeping homes, businesses, and schools connected—because your location shouldn’t limit your connection.

Riddle of the Month

I can be cracked, made, told, and played. I can be a key to your secrets, but I’m not a lock. What am I?

Answer will be revealed in next quarter’s newsletter!
